Ana Castillo is a Chicano|Chicana novelist, poet, and short story writer from Chicago. She is the author of So Far From God and The Mixquiahuala Letters. In her novel Sapogonia, Castillo creates a fictional country that is the home to all mestizos. Her topics often relate to feminism|feminist thought, and she is considered a magical realism|magical realist author.
