Chadwick's Sign, also known as Hyperpigmentation in Pregnancy, is a bluish discoloration of the cervix, vagina and vulva from venous congestion. It can be observed as early as 6-8 weeks after conception, and is often used as an early sign of preganancy.
These color changes were discovered in approximately 1836 by France|French Doctor Etienne Joseph Jacquemin (1796-1872)
