1 Introduction
Cleopatra VI of Egypt

Cleopatra VI Tryphaena was the daughter of Ptolemy VIII Physcon and Cleopatra III of Egypt|Cleopatra III. Born in early 140 BC|140 or 141 BC and married Antiochus VIII Grypus, king of Seleucid Empire|Syria, in 124 BC.

Cleopatra Tryphaena, bore Antiochus VIII Grypus four sons: Seleucus VI Epiphanes, Antiochus XI Epiphanes, Demetrius III of Syria|Demetrius III Eucaerus, and Antiochus XII Dionysus.

When her father fled to Rome to avoid an uprising in Alexandria against him, her sister Berenice took control of History of Greek and Roman Egypt|Egypt. Cleopatra VI then died in 57 BC of unknown reasons, although it is believed Berenice IV of Egypt|Berenice IV poisoned her. When her father later returned he had Berenice IV and her husband beheaded.
