Free Teens describes itself as a "reality-based, sexual abstinence|abstinence-centered HIV/AIDS, Sexually transmitted disease|STD, and pregnancy prevention program". It is used in 38 U.S. state|American states and in more than 70 nation|countries around the world and has been translated into 12 languages.
It was pioneered by Richard Panzer, a Unificationist based in New Jersey.
Like most abstinence-based sexual education programs, Free Teens carries a twin message to teens and young adults: sex before marriage is physically unhealthy and leads to emotional misery.
