1 Introduction
Low batty

merge|Sagging

Low-batty (also spelled "lo batty") is a recent development in urban fashion that bears an unfortunate resemblance to not having quite put one's trousers on yet. It involves the waist band of trousers or shorts being sufficiently low on the body (possibly even below the bottom) that the underpants of the wearer become exposed. It is a particularly popular trend among those wearing designer underwear, as it allows the waistband of the undergarments to be exposed, allowing all to see the insignia of those who have designed said underwear.
The style is said to have started with ex prisoners. Prisoners would have their belts confiscated whilst inside to stop them being used as a weapon or for suicide. The lack of belt would cause the prisoners pants to hang low, this eventually became a fashion outside of prison.
