He was an electrical engineer before he turned to modelling. He was initially rejected by Graviera Suitings because he looked too young to wear a suit. His breakthrough came with Thackersey fabrics. Since then there was no looking back. He is considered to be India's first male supermodel. He was briefly engaged to model Madhu Sapre.
