Testosterone spray, also known as Sex in a Can, developed by the company Acrux (company)|Acrux, is a transdermal topical spray containing the sex hormone testosterone, intended to improve the libidos of women when applied to the abdomen. As of February, 2005, the spray has been tested in a clinical trial to determine its efficacy. The study, conducted by professor Susan Davis (Monash University)|Susan Davis at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, involved 261 premenopausal women with low levels of endogenous testosterone who were concerned by their diminished libidos.

Those who used the product reported an average of two more satisfactory sexual experiences per month than before the trial. Adverse effect (medicine)|Adverse effects included slight itchiness and increases in body hair among some participants.

Although Davis considered the results encouraging, she never expects the spray to hit store shelves until several years.
