Wendy Wasserstein (b. October 18, 1950) is an award-winning United States|American playwright and an Andrew Dickson White Professor-at-Large at Cornell (2005-2011). The President's Council of Cornell Women first provided endowment funds to support one Professor-at-Large in 1993 http://web.cornell.edu/Professors-at-Large/current.htm. Born to a Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York City|New York, she is the sister of Bruce Wasserstein. She earned a B.A. in History from Mount Holyoke College in 1971 and an M.F.A. in 1976 from the Yale School of Drama. Her plays include, Uncommon Women and Others, The Heidi Chronicles, The Sisters Rosensweig, Isn???t It Romantic, and An American Daughter. She also wrote the screenplay for the film The Object of My Affection.
